一、教学对象
本课程适用于大学英语四级考试成绩在425分以上（包括425分），已经达到《大学英语课程教学要求》中“基本要求”的非英语专业文理等本科二年级的学生，特别是希望在英语听力及口头表达方面得到进一步提升的学生。
二、教学目的
《高级媒体英语视听说》主要是针对非英语专业文理等本科二年级的学生而开设的后续课程。本课程旨在通过系统的听说技能训练，帮助学生掌握听前预测、辨认特定信息、准确理解以及推理等听力技巧，进一步提高学生的听力水平；同时通过各类课堂口语活动与练习，使学生能够对相关材料进行口头复述、人物评述、观后感交流、小组辩论等口语实践，达到准确、得体地运用英语进行交流的目的。此外，本课程还着重通过培养学生自主学习能力、合作学习能力，使他们学会品鉴外国文化精华，开拓国际视野，提高自身人文素养和跨文化意识，形成正确的情感和认知态度，适应社会发展和经济建设的需要。
三、教学内容
本课程以西方国家主流媒体节目的视频材料为教学素材，以主题为线索，涉及学校生活、亲情爱情、社会人文等十个主题。每个单元围绕主题选取了六段热点视频，形式多样，有新闻报道、名人演讲、对话访谈、精彩影视等。具体内容如下：

四、教学方法
本课程以多媒体为主要教学手段，以直观画面和情节内容为基础开展有针对性的听说训练，主要采用以下教学方法：
1）讲授法：由教师讲解示范基本听力及口语技能，补充相关背景知识及核心词汇。
2）讨论法：围绕每单元提供的专题视频材料，利用核心词汇对主题进行讨论、评述、辩论等口语实践活动。
3）交流展示法：精心挑选合适话题，在集体讨论的基础上学生到台前进行主题演说，发表各自的独特见解。
五、考核方法
本课程的考核包括以下内容：
课堂出勤情况及表现(主要指课堂小组讨论、小组对话以及个人发言情况)、分阶段主题演说及期末听力测试。考核采用百分制形式，具体分值如下：
1）课堂到课率及表现30分；
2）主题演说30分；
3）听力测试40分。
